Pay Rate: £30,775 based on 45 hour week
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Contracted 45 hours per week – plus overtime
Shift patterns: Mon-Fri (up to 3 nights out per week)

What are the requirements?

  • Hold a valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (LGV Cat C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card

04.Crew Driver – Ground Operations (m/w/d)

As a crew driver, you will carry out crew and material transports on the airport grounds and the company premises of European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH.

  • Coordination and implementation of transport services for EAT employees, flight crews and material transports on the airport premises
  • Delivery of operational materials and documents (e.g. flight operations packages) to pilots in the event of short-term changes
  • Carrying out crew and passenger transports to all apron areas of Leipzig-Halle Airport
  • Support of logistical processes, in particular:
    • COMAT handling, i.e. the transport and provision of internal air freight goods for operational operations
    • Delivery of catering, dry food boxes and bottled water at the request of the crew
    • Schengen/Non-Schengen Entry Escorts for Arriving Flight Crews
  • Additional transport services on request, including:
    • Changes in flight documentation, delivery directly to the aircraft
    • Support of S-Bahn shuttle and landside transport, especially in the event of high capacity utilization or special operating situations.
  • Independent assurance of the operational readiness of the vehicles, including documentation and daily condition check as well as vehicle care
  • Keeping transport and operational documentation of corresponding operational requirements (e.g. keeping a logbook)
  • Attention and safety awareness when navigating the airport grounds
  • Preparation for the implementation of the RMS project, which enables self-sufficient planning of transport services
  • Independent creation of damage and accident reports, use of the IQSMS tool

05.Casual Driver

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Under tight deadlines, drives vehicle to customer sites, climbs in and out of vehicle, and walks up and down stairs as required to pick up and deliver documents and packages to and from customers according to established procedures, in all weather conditions 
  • Picks up, handles and delivers time sensitive documents and packages in a safe and punctual manner considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, traffic regulations, and driving conditions in order to meet customer and DHL time requirements 
  • Ensures all delivery material received is safely delivered to correct consignee 
  • Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents/packages picked up or delivered 
  • Maintains good work habits, including reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures 
  • Reports any suspected breach of security or unusual happenings to supervisor immediately 
  • May assist supervisor in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level courier 
  • May assist supervisor in performing check rides to review performance and the proper use of routes and practices 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Driving Privileges standards 
  • Must be 21+ years old 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Map reading skills and knowledge of delivery area preferred 
  • Previous professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery role 
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment background, drug and medical physical screening 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift up to seventy (70) lbs occasionally

Pay Rate: £41,161.66
Grade: P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, Days (4am – 6am and 6am – 9am)

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

  • Carry out high‑volume manual handling, handballing approximately 800–1,000 tyres across 1–2 delivery drops in line with operational requirements.
  • Work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
  • Operate all equipment ( for which a license is held and authorisation has been given ) correctly and safely at all times
  • Complete thorough daily vehicle checks and report any defects
  • Report all personnel or equipment related accidents immediately to the Transport Office.
